Back Pain and Sciatica

Low back pain affects approximately fourth-fifths of adults at some point or other. Most often, they are related to acute injuries such as automobile accidents, sports injuries, or improper lifting practices.

Sciatica is typically a consequence of chronic low back pain where the pain, numbness, and tingling sensation radiates down one side from the low back to the back of the thigh. Sciatica is usually because of a disc bulge in the lower back or nerve compression at the buttocks.

What are the common causes of
low back pain?

  • Disc Bulge
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Stress Injuries and Arthritis
  • Even Poor Posture!

Most low back pains do not require surgery. The smartest way to fight chronic back pain most of the time is not to rest, but to move normally and get on with your everyday activities. A qualified physiotherapist can help you achieve this goal and manage your pain with ease.

How can physiotherapy help?

Physiotherapy can help you get rid of back discomfort. Our Physiotherapists at FLEXITUDE can help you with your back pain and greatly improve the quality of your life. Our typical plan of treatment for Low Back Pain includes:

  • A detailed assessment is done to arrive at a specific plan of care based on your condition.
  • Cupping and Dry Needling to normalize your spinal alignment and improve spinal joint function. IFT and Ultrasound therapy is also used for pain relief.
  • Strengthening exercises to help you enjoy better spinal support and maintain a straighter posture
  • Flexibility exercises to gently and carefully extend your pain-free range of back motion
  • Stabilization exercises to help keep your spinal components in place as you perform everyday tasks (from sitting in a chair to getting out of bed)
  • Lifestyle changes to prevent unnecessary strain due to the awkward workplace or sports ergonomics

If you are suffering from back or Sciatica pain, FLEXITUDE Physio can help you get back on your feet as soon as possible. Call +91 730 688 5927 to schedule a consultation at any of the FLEXITUDE Physio branches.
