Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

Muscle Stimulation is a way of firing your muscle artificially. If you are struggling with an injury or pain, your muscles can start to atrophy (waste away). EMS can be used to accelerate your recovery as it can stimulate the muscles - it works to gain strength without causing pain to your injury. The electrical impulse produced by the EMS is similar to that from the brain and the muscle reacts accordingly.

This is a very safe method of electrotherapy. Pain is just a sensation like touch and temperature. TENS provides pain relief by blocking nerve signals carrying pain sensation to the brain. TENS also stimulates the production of our natural pain-relieving hormones i.e. –endorphins.
